I work in a gallery. I love it there. I love my job, too. Today, I stretched 15 paintings for a client who's brought this type of stuff in before....
I'm totally in awe of painters, sculptors, printers(etching, lithos, tec., etc..)I used to do this myself YEARS ago...My 1st husband was really quite good, even had a one man show in Rock Center, NYC, one Christmas season...But, the pieces this woman brings in, are BEAUTIFUL! Filled with emotion, movement...just amazing stuff, and it's all on the back of whatever fabric they can find....It's kinda sad, in a way, that canvas isn't readily accessible.I'd never even considered that, before working here. One piece I stretched today was on the other side of a chair...they took the fabric off an old chair, pressed it flat & painted....the back is pale pink, floral damask....Like I said, I am in AWE....Does anyone know how/ where/whatever about the possibilty of sending art supplies to ....? And I hope it's okay to post this here...
